My older sister has a blog and I enjoy reading it so much that I decided to try out the blogging thing. About me: My name is Jenny Seckinger as of July 24, 2009. I recently married one of my college friends, who is probably the most amazing man ever. I actually strive to be more like him, but fall short often. (He is the most loving, caring, and responsible man ever and I am a little bit on the lazy side). Chris is my husband and he is the most outgoing and adventurous person I know, which I love. He is amazing at baseball, tennis, wake boarding, surfing, long boarding, playing guitar and pretty much a rock star at everything. This works out perfectly for me because I am attracted to all of these talents. He loves to cook and he is really good at it too, which is wonderful because I hate to cook. He also is just a pretty neat guy and really fun to be around.
So, Chris and I decided to get married in Costa Rica because it is beautiful and full of adventure. He had been there several times and I was just taking a leap of faith on the location. A few of our family members and friends got to share in the adventure of the Seckinger family while we went away to get married. We did a road trip all over Costa Rica in a fun blue van, a group of us (Diane S., Tim S., Lauren S., Tim P., Sandy P., Chris S. and I) flew into Liberia (it was super cheap flights at the time) and drove down to San Jose to meet the other part of the first group (Ralph R., Susan R., Michael R., Jeff B., Daniel G., and Kelsey P.) at Vista Del Valle Plantation (pretty bungalow huts on a plantation overlooking the rain forest). The first night we got there and pretty much hung out and enjoyed the beauty and listened to Daniel and Chris play guitar. The next day we woke up early and had a long 3 hour drive to the river to white water raft. (There just happened to be a mudslide that day, so it took us an hour longer to get there). That was fun, Chris was the only one who feel in the water with our group, but every other group had many boat tip overs. After that we had a nice long ride back home and the next day we got to go to Jaco & Hermosa to surf soak up some sun. It was a pretty long drive and we got to cross the crocodile bridge, which was freaking scary. It was a pretty relaxing day and fun to see more of the country. The next day we decided to bungee jump before we drove up to Playa Conchal (5 hour drive) in our little 12 passenger van that fit 13 of us. All the boys were going to bungee and the girls went to watch. Everyone made it alive, so Sandy and I decided lets try it out. Sandy took one look over the edge and decided, no thanks. I decided to do it because I wanted to do something a little crazy before I went off to get married. I needed a little help. I will also never do this again, it was terrible. Right after bungee jumping we headed to Playa Conchal (5 hour drive) to Paradisus Hotel where we were to be married. We got a day to play on the beach and the next day 1/2 of the guests arrived. Thursday the other 1/2 of the guests arrived and we had out rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. Friday we married.
