2011

Since I blog about 1 time a year, I feel I have to update on my life first. One day I will be a daily blogger and will get to update on fun stuff too.
So 2011, we started off the year a little off. We were on a ski trip in New Mexico and on New Years Eve we came back from a day of boarding Taos and one of our cars got into a wreck by driving off a cliff into a tree. Thank goodness everyone was ok, but still it put a damper on the trip, the new year and getting back home on time. Tim S. just bought a new car, a 2011 Infiniti QX56 with a fun new feature "snow", so we drove it to New Mexico from Houston. We were fine for a few days, but the roads were quite snowy and on the way back from our last day at the mountain, they were on the back roads heading back to Eddie's house and had the accident. Tim S., Diane, Tim P., Sandy , and Lauren were in the Infiniti when it wrecked and Chris, Eddie's date "I don't remember her name" and Eddie were in the 4wd truck. We all had to ride to Albuquerque from Angel Fire, all 9 of us in a truck for 3 hours. It was awful. Then a few of the gang flew back and Diane, Chris, Lauren and I had to rent a van and drive back from Albuquerque to Houston. It was probably our worst vacation ever, which was still a pretty good vacation and we are all happy everyone is alive.
Work was pretty crazy for us this year, it flew by. Chris and I both have a lot on our plates at work. We both still work for Colliers, but don't really work together at all.
We went on a trip to Colorado in March with some friends and some fam came too. We went with Daniel, Kelsey, Tim P. and Sandy, Michael and Tim S. and Diane. It started out as a friends trip because Lauren was gone somewhere, but Tim S. and Diane had to drive up to Colorado to pick up their car. It ended up no being totaled. Crazy. So we chose to go board Breckenridge, it was a good time. We ended up meeting up with Kristi and David, so we got to ski with David a few days and see them out in the town. I remember thinking that Daniel and Kelsey were going to get engaged there, but they actually got engaged a little later this year. Michael turned 21 in Breck with us, so that was fun to spend his birthday with him. He use to always be around and now that he lives in Louisiana we only get to see him a few times a year.
Kristine and Billy got sealed in the temple to the kids as well, which was really neat to get to see. Well I didn't actually see it, but I got to experience the day with them. Chris and got to act like were were parents to all the kids, we trucked around all the kids that day for them. It was fun and silly. A few other fun things that happened with them in 2011 are: Derek, Kris' brother came to live with them which everyone loves having him around. Brody turned 1 and is so freak cute, such a happy baby. Elizabeth grew 5 ft, JK- she is in preschool a few days of the week. Bailey is huge and about to be in high school, which is weird. He has a funny little personality now and is such a good big brother.
I still played soccer most of the year, but my team went away in Dec, so I had to quit until they come back. I miss it now, but it probably is a good time to quit.
Chris and I had our 2 year anniversary this year and it was awesome!!! We went to Sea World. I know this sounds a little hokey, but it was awesome. We decided to go to a fun adventure with the Penguins. It was a new deal they started at Sea World this year, you learn about the penguin and then you get to actually go into the exhibit and touch, feed, play etc with the penguins. It was so fun. They are so cute and it was just a neat experience. The rides were fun too, but it was really hot so we did visit the entire park, but didn't even stay and see Shamu. We are definitely coming back when we have kiddos. We stayed at the Emily Morgan hotel and had an awesome suite and went out to eat at an awesome restaurant on the boardwalk. It was a nice little getaway.
Stephen came home in September, the entire fam came home to see him. It is so good having him back in America, he got to stay for awhile, but is now back in California. We are so thankful he is home. He got to visit in Dec too and come to the lake a night, so its been great having him back. He has a girlfriend now too, she lives here, so I am hopeful he will come home more often now.
We had another fun event happen in September. By fun, I mean not really fun at all. Tim S. had a stroke, well multiple actually. It was really weird, we all noticed he was a little off, but he didn't go to the hospital until he forgot how to drive. He is doing ok, pretty much back to normal now, no after affects. It was just a big scare and we are all very thankful he is still here with us and doing well.
Lauren graduated and got a job at MDPC. She loves it and the best part about her job is she met a great guy, Dan. I am sure she likes other parts about her job, but the best part for me is him. She is so freaking happy and I just love seeing her this way. Only time will tell...
AJ moved down here in March, it has been awesome having here in TX. We get to see her almost every Sunday. She is working for the Dynamo and loves her job. She moved into Eddie back apartment, which is fun. She is a riot and great to have around.
Sandy got into CRNA school. YEA! YEA! YEA!!! We got to see Tim P. and Sandy pretty much every weekend, so we got to enjoy life with them often. Now she is in school and TIm P. is a working bear, so we no longer know them. :)
Missy and Alex got pregnant again!!! YEA! YEA! YEA!!! I love adding to the family. I can't wait to find out if it is a boy of girl. Logan and Alyssa are freak cuties. They are speaking now and have fun names for everything. Jacket= Jack, Logan=Say aka Sally, Alyssa= Sissa, Jenny=GGG, Chris=Tis. Ok=Otay.
Cyndi is at Blinn, or shall I say Walgreen's. She is pretty much working a full time job and going to school on her time off. She lives in College Station and is doing core classes. I have been able to get closer to her I think now and over the last few years then ever before, which I love. She is such an amazing girl. Good head on her shoulders, so sweet and just a fun sister to have around. She is trying to figure out what to do with her life, but aren't we all.
Chris and I went to New York, on a spontaneous trip to see Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds. We got to explore Manhattan, Soho, Tribeca and visit with Margaret and Scott. We stayed the night with them a night, went to a fabulous restaurant-Minetta Tavern. Then we stayed at the New Yorker the following night and met Daniel and Kelsey there. Dan had no clue we were going to be there. It was a great surprise. Kelsey can keep a secret. We did the Dave and Tim concert that night and then explored Manhattan. The 2 other nights we went back to Albany, (we rode the bus, which was interesting, double happiness bus stop). We got to see where they live and then we drove out to Sharon Springs to check out the Beekman Boys Farm. It was awesome. We at at the American Hotel, great food. It was fun.
We got to see the entire fam again in December. We already miss everyone, I wish the entire fam lived right by us.
This pretty much sums up the year. Next blog will be a fun blog I hope, like a craft or something fun. Until next time.

December to Remember...

This really isn't a December to Remember, but I thought it was a good title. It is pretty much like every other December, but I do guess better than most in the past. Why you ask? Well the main reason would be because my little brother Stephen got to come home for Christmas. He has been serving in Afganistan and he got to come home for like 2 weeks. The whole family was so blessed to get to spend time with him for the Holidays, it made it really special. My Mom really appreciated it too, she had another surgery and the day before Christmas. So she was excited to have Stephen home with her.

This month/year has flown by, I am not ready for 2011. Slow down already. I still have budgets due for work, I have 5 days until they are totally officially late. (They are already way past late, but officially they will be beyond late when it is 2011. YIKES! The Seckinger's, Papa's and Eddie are all going on a ski trip to New Mexico next week for New Years! It is going to be a blast and I can't wait for a vacation, although I still have to work :(!

I need to make somethings happen this year, like convince my husband that it is a good time to have a baby! I am going to say that will be my New Years Goal, we will see how convincing I am. So many things will have to happen, like:

#1. Get into incredible shape, so I can look amazing after the baby.
#2. Find Chris a super amazing job, so I dont have to work so I can stay home with the baby.
#3. Convince my friends to have babys around the same time. (Play dates)
#4. Move I guess. We might need a bigger place if we want to add a baby into the mix.
#5. I guess I still need to convince Chris that now is a good time to have a baby.

I am super close, 5 things and thats it.

Some other things that might be more realistic.

1. Grow closer to God
2. move more to the leasing side of work.

It's sad that those are my goals for the year. I need to find some more things to do in life...

Thats about it. I am super close to having a baby!

One year later...

So apparently I am not very good at the whole blogging thing since it has been a year since I haven't posted anything and I only posted 1 time ever. So a lot can happen over one year, quick summary: My sister, Missy and brother-in-law, Alex had some babies, Twins, they are now about 10 months old and are going as Mickey and Minnie for Halloween. When they were born they were about 5 lbs each, now they are monsters.

My brother Billy and my sister-in-law, Kris also had a baby, Brody, he is super cute and now their little family is complete. BTW, Billy is my Co-Worker, Bailey is 12 now, Kris is in School finishing up with her degree in teaching. Elizabeth is about to 3 and is as tall as a 6 year old.

Stephen came home for a bit in August and is now serving our country in Afghanistan, doing something with computers. He works really long hours and might come home in Dec.

Michael has become really really ridiculously good looking and is a model, jk that was zoolander, he is in college at Louisiana Tech studying engineering. Really, Michael? Louisiana? and a Frat? Weird.

Miss Cyndi is now a senior at Seven Lakes high school and has almost had a boyfriend for a year, Jose. She wants to go to U of H, which I am still sad about.

Mom has had 2 surgeries this year and Dad is kicking it with the same routine , walking like a million miles this year.

Chris and I moved out of our in-laws, YEAH! and live in a townhome on I-10. We love being on our own but living on I-10 sucks because of all the road noise from the Interstate. Chris and I are Co-Workers, which is fun.

My oldest friend got married this month to an amazing guy named Chris, there can never be enough Chris' in my life.

My sister-in-law Lauren was sick half of the year and is in her last year of college at A&M.

My other sister-in-law Sandy has become super fashionable and still savings lives in Houston.
My brother-in-law Tim is still working with KPMG working his way up to become partner. And my mother-in-law is still working for the church and my crazy father-in-law has 2 jobs as CEO.
Tonight I realized why I dont blog, it takes way too long and I need lessons on how to upload pictures. This is about all I could stand to load and move around on the page, until next year :)!

Newbie!

My older sister has a blog and I enjoy reading it so much that I decided to try out the blogging thing. About me: My name is Jenny Seckinger as of July 24, 2009. I recently married one of my college friends, who is probably the most amazing man ever. I actually strive to be more like him, but fall short often. (He is the most loving, caring, and responsible man ever and I am a little bit on the lazy side). Chris is my husband and he is the most outgoing and adventurous person I know, which I love. He is amazing at baseball, tennis, wake boarding, surfing, long boarding, playing guitar and pretty much a rock star at everything. This works out perfectly for me because I am attracted to all of these talents. He loves to cook and he is really good at it too, which is wonderful because I hate to cook. He also is just a pretty neat guy and really fun to be around.

So, Chris and I decided to get married in Costa Rica because it is beautiful and full of adventure. He had been there several times and I was just taking a leap of faith on the location. A few of our family members and friends got to share in the adventure of the Seckinger family while we went away to get married. We did a road trip all over Costa Rica in a fun blue van, a group of us (Diane S., Tim S., Lauren S., Tim P., Sandy P., Chris S. and I) flew into Liberia (it was super cheap flights at the time) and drove down to San Jose to meet the other part of the first group (Ralph R., Susan R., Michael R., Jeff B., Daniel G., and Kelsey P.) at Vista Del Valle Plantation (pretty bungalow huts on a plantation overlooking the rain forest). The first night we got there and pretty much hung out and enjoyed the beauty and listened to Daniel and Chris play guitar. The next day we woke up early and had a long 3 hour drive to the river to white water raft. (There just happened to be a mudslide that day, so it took us an hour longer to get there). That was fun, Chris was the only one who feel in the water with our group, but every other group had many boat tip overs. After that we had a nice long ride back home and the next day we got to go to Jaco & Hermosa to surf soak up some sun. It was a pretty long drive and we got to cross the crocodile bridge, which was freaking scary. It was a pretty relaxing day and fun to see more of the country. The next day we decided to bungee jump before we drove up to Playa Conchal (5 hour drive) in our little 12 passenger van that fit 13 of us. All the boys were going to bungee and the girls went to watch. Everyone made it alive, so Sandy and I decided lets try it out. Sandy took one look over the edge and decided, no thanks. I decided to do it because I wanted to do something a little crazy before I went off to get married. I needed a little help. I will also never do this again, it was terrible. Right after bungee jumping we headed to Playa Conchal (5 hour drive) to Paradisus Hotel where we were to be married. We got a day to play on the beach and the next day 1/2 of the guests arrived. Thursday the other 1/2 of the guests arrived and we had out rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. Friday we married.
